After having a few oil painting lessons years ago and promised myself I would take up painting again when I retired. I started in watercolour because I love the translucent finish. However I love the slap on paint approach with acrylics and it is much more forgiving, so I mostly paint with acrylics now. I learn something new from each painting. My subjects are mostly birds, animals and my quirky emus Other art forms I enjoy are carving with Mt Gambier limestone, mosaics, lino printing and playing with resin on boards, wood and hand painted tiles |
