Annette Dawson
Annette first discovered a love of painting as a fifteen year old, when studying art at High School. Now almost forty years later her affair with the acrylic medium continues. From the pristine beaches of Kangaroo Island and the mainland coast to the birds, flora and wildlife that call our state home, each of her paintings has been inspired by what Annette sees through the lens of her camera. Using acrylic paint, these images are then meticulously preserved in intricate detail onto the canvas. ‘Applying paint to a canvas is just part of the process. It is having experienced the moment that brings a painting to life.’ As a frequent visitor of the Porter Street Gallery for a number of years, Annette is thrilled to join this talented group of artists and display her work in this delightful Gallery. |
